On September 27, 2024, at the invitation of Associate Professors Kai Xiao and Ji Liu, Researcher Ting Lei from Peking University visited the Department of Biomedical Engineering to give a report entitled "Semiconductor Bioelectronic Materials and Devices".
Professor Ting Lei is a specially appointed researcher and doctoral supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Peking University, and a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund.
Summary: Bioelectronic devices have broad application prospects in medical testing, adjuvant therapy, wearable, and implantable devices. The mismatch between the mechanical and physicochemical properties of traditional biosensors and biological tissue interfaces is an important factor restricting the development of bioelectronic devices. The ideal bioelectronic device should have the characteristics of light, thin, flexible, stretchable, and good biocompatibility. Polymer semiconductor materials have significant application prospects in fields such as flexible displays, intelligent sensing, and energy conversion due to their designable structure, easy to control performance, lightweight, and excellent mechanical properties. However, research on them in the field of bioelectronics is relatively scarce. This report will focus on the electromechanical chemical transistor materials, processing technology and flexible device integration technology that we have developed in recent years based on the electrochemical doping principle, and further elaborate the semiconductor hydrogel materials proposed based on these technologies and their applications in bioelectronics.
The excellent academic report by Researcher Thunder attracted many researchers to come and learn. After the meeting, everyone discussed the content of the report.
