2026年6月25日,应肖凯副教授邀请,香港城市大学Derek Ho副教授来访我校,并作题为《Piezoionics: Active Ionic Energy Conversion for Soft Matter》的报告。
Derek Ho副教授简介: Derek Ho (何慶頌教授) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Institute of Digital Medicine and Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy. He serves as a Co-Principal Investigator at the Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-Cardiovascular Health Engineering. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada, Prof. Ho returned to Hong Kong to begin his academic career after earning his PhD from the University of Toronto, Canada. His research focuses on piezoionic soft materials and devices, specifically for bio-integrated sensing and mechanical energy harvesting.
报告摘要: Modern technology faces a fundamental challenge: advanced electronics are rigid, while biocompatible materials remain mostly passive. Piezoionics bridges this disconnect by enabling active energy conversion directly within soft matter. By using force-induced ionic motion to turn mechanical energy into electricity, this approach allows for seamless bio-integration, self-powered sensing, and energy harvesting. This talk charts the evolution of piezoionics from core science to application. We will discuss the development of hydrogel and ionogel materials, alongside design strategies to boost electrical output. I will also highlight a key real-world application: a conformal "ionic skin" for continuous, cuffless blood pressure monitoring.
