Associate Professor Kai Xiao was invited to give a presentation at East China Normal University

On August 8, 2023, Associate Professor Kai Xiao was invited by Professor Yang Tian, East China Normal University, to give an academic presentation, with the title is "Brain like Computing and Information Devices Based on Ion Transport". At the meeting, Associate Professor Kai Xiao shared the interests and research progress of the research group in recent years, and had in-depth discussions with the teachers and students present.

Professor Yang Tian is currently the Dean of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at East China Normal University and the Deputy Director of the Analytical Chemistry Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society.

Tian Group’s research work focus on the chemical analysis of live brain signals. The research group has carried out systematic and innovative work on developing new analytic methods for the precise detection of neurochemicals, designing methods and protocols for brain imaging with long-term stability, and the assembly of new instruments with high spatial and temporal resolution. The major research areas include:

1. To design and synthesize multiple recognition molecules and biological probes to obtain accurate quantitative information of neurochemical molecules,

2. To construct a stable self-assembly and anti-fouling interface to achieve long-term measurement of the freely moving animals,

3. To create new instruments and new equipment with high spatial and temporal resolution in researching freely moving animals.
